Studying abroad

Studying abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Make sure that you are as prepared as possible to make the most of your stay. If you change your address to your new residence when you go studying abroad, it is a good idea to contact your Nykredit adviser before you head off. This way you avoid being unable to get help from Nykredit when you are abroad.

When moving abroad to study, we will ask you to forward proof of identity and documentation of your new circumstances. This will help us determine whether your relationship with the Bank has to change while you study abroad.

Read more about the information that we need

1. Inform your adviser that you are moving temporarily abroad, which will prepare the Bank for international transactions.

2. Make sure that all emails are signed up for e-Boks in order not to miss out on any important information from back home.

3. Order a debit card, which is often cheaper to use abroad.

4. Order your special health insurance card to benefit from your Danish health insurance while abroad. For more information, see here.

5. Update your new address, if any, at minSU. For more information, see here.

Note: If you are studying abroad for a longer period of time and you take up residence in the new country, Nykredit may not be able to provide advisory services during your stay. We therefore recommend that you contact Nykredit International Lending before your journey begins.
