Things to be aware of when you move away from Denmark
You may generally keep your banking products when you move abroad. However, there are a few exceptions:
Credit facility: If you have an overdraft facility, it will be closed when you move abroad. This appears from the overdraft facility terms and means that the overdraft facility will be terminated, and any outstanding drawdowns under the facility must be repaid.
Custody accounts: If you move to the United States, you can no longer have investment agreements with us. This applies no matter where in the United States you choose to live as Nykredit is not licensed to carry on banking activities in the United States. Any investment agreements (portfolio management agreements) between you and Nykredit will be terminated (pension and children’s savings schemes excepted).
When you move abroad, stricter requirements apply to proof of identity and documentation – no matter the anticipated duration of your stay. In order to meet current legislation, we must be able to account for our customer relationships. We will therefore ask you to fill in forms and provide information when you are moving out of the country. We have listed the different types of proof of identity and documentation that Nykredit requires when you you move abroad.
What to do if your card is misused or stolen
If your card has been used by someone else to withdraw an amount from your account, you can block your card. You may file a dispute with Nykredit, and we will assist you in recovering the amount withdrawn.
If you dispute an amount withdrawn from your account, you may file an objection with Nykredit, and we will assist you in recovering the amount.
Below you will find the different types of proof of identity and documentation that Nykredit requires when you are moving abroad.
